It’s Bandcamp Friday! These are great days to pick up new music because Bandcamp waives their revenue share and passes all the funds directly to the artists and labels. I always try to pick up a few records on Bandcamp Fridays. Here is today’s haul.
Hoping as a Coping Mechanism by MOULD. This is a fantastic post-hardcore release. Angular and melodic, but you can also nod your head to it. The vocals remind of Fugazi (the Guy parts) at times, which is cool. The song structure is dense and I’m excited to get closer to this one over time.
Mount Zero by Swapmeet. This one captivated me from the first notes I previewed. It feels a bit Courtney Barnett-ish. Maybe a bit Modest Mousey. But heavier. And softer. If that makes sense. The melodies on this one are infectious, as are the surprising hooks that appear throughout. They’re doing the loud/quiet/loud thing really well.
